TOURIST VISA

GREEK PASSPORT HOLDERS : Essential Requirements

1. Printed Visa Application form signed in blue, as per signature on passport with uploaded photo.

2. Original Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of the Indian Visa issuance, with at least 2 continuous blank pages, in good condition.

3. Two photocopies of Passport pages with details.

4. Photocopy of previous Indian Visa if any.

6. In case the applicant holds a 2nd Nationality Passport, a photocopy of passport page with details.

NON-GREEK PASSPORT HOLDERS : Additional requirements (if applicable)

1. Photocopy of Greek Residence Permit or Greek ID, if exists with the Original.
   In case Greek Residence Permit or Greek ID does not exist, A Non-Resident Declaration* (Download Declaration), addressed to the Indian Embassy in Greece, in English, stating the reason for applying from Greece and not from the applicant’s country of origin.

2. Copy of flight ticket booking/reservation
   
   

*Note : Print out the Non-Resident Declaration and fill it if you are not a holder of a Greek Residence Permit.

Foreign Nationals will be issued visas only on Clearance Received from the Indian Mission of their country of origin.

BUSINESS VISA

GREEK PASSPORT HOLDERS : Essential Requirements

1. Printed Visa Application form, signed in blue, as per signature on passport

5. In case the applicant holds a 2nd Nationality Passport, a photocopy of passport page with details.

7. Invitation letter (Download Sample Document). Coloured Photocopy.

8. Letter of Incorporation of Indian Company. Coloured Photocopy

9. Recommendation letter (IN ORIGINAL, Download Sample Document). If you have a last Business visa still valid, please ask for its cancellation in the Recommendation Letter.

NON-GREEK PASSPORT HOLDERS : Mandatory requirement

10. Residence proof (More than two years of residence) in country of application - Greek Residence Permit for more than two years and TAX RETURN STATEMANET of last two years prior to the date of the official Visa submission of visa application.

Foreign Nationals will be issued visas only on Clearance Received from the Indian Mission of their country of origin.

7. Evidence of travel through India, Copy of flight ticket booking/reservation, etc.

TO JOIN VESSEL – Additional requirements

8. Invitation letter (TO JOIN VESSEL) (Download Sample Document). Coloured Photocopy.

9. Letter of Incorporation of Indian Company. Coloured Photocopy.

10. Recommendation letter (TO JOIN VESSEL) (IN ORIGINAL, Download Sample Document).

11. Original Confirmation Letter on Letter-head duly stamped and signed stating that contents of recommendation letter are True and Correct.

12. Please ask for the cancellation of your last visa, if still valid, in the recommendation letter.

TRANSIT VISA is valid for a maximum period of 15 days with Single Entry.

ENTRY VISA

8. Invitation letter (TO INSPECT / ATTEND VESSEL) (Coloured Copy on Company Letter-Head - Download Sample Document).

9. Letter of Incorporation of Indian Company. Coloured Photocopy.

10. Recommendation letter (TO INSPECT / ATTEND VESSEL) (IN ORIGINAL on Company Letter-Head -Download Sample Document).

11. Original Confirmation Letter on Letter-head duly stamped and signed stating that contents of recommendation letter are true and correct.

FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OF INDIAN ORIGIN – Additional requirements

13. Birth certificate in respect of children (Original + copy)

14. Marriage Certificate in respect of husband/wife – Apostille (Original + copy)

15. Letter from the Indian National (father / spouse) requesting for visa for family members and sponsoring their stay in India with photocopy of his/her passport.

FOR DEPENDENTS / FAMILY MEMBERS OF A FOREIGNER WHO HAS EMPLOYMENT VISA - Additional requirements

16. Documents establishing the employment of the spouse in India along with a copy of his/her last Employment visa, FRRO Registration, PAN Card copy.

17. Letter from Company addressed to the Embassy confirming that the foreigner is still employed with the company and would like his family members to join him in India.

18. Letter of Incorporation of the Indian Company (Coloured Copy)

19. For family members/dependents of a foreigner who was granted Employment Visa:

    1. Birth certificate in respect of children (Original + Translation)

    2. Marriage certificate in respect of husband/wife (Original + Translation)

    3. Letter from the applicant addressed to Embassy requesting for a visa to join family in India.

    4. Letter from the foreign national (father / spouse) requesting for visa for family members and sponsoring their stay in India with photocopy of his/her passport

GREEK PASSPORT HOLDERS : Essential Requirements

1. Printed Visa Application form, signed in blue, as per signature on passport.

3. Two photocopies of Passport pages with details

5. In case the applicant holds a 2nd Nationality Passport, a photocopy of passport page with details

7. Certificate of Incorporation of Indian Company

8. Letter of Appointment (Original + Copy)

9. Original Contract signed with Indian Company /Organization in India (Original + Copy)

10. Details of the assignment, terms and conditions, etc. of professional expertise.

11. Documentary proof of Educational Qualifications (Original + Copy)

12. Copy of Applicant’s CV

13. Embassy of India will issue employment visa only once. Thereafter the Employment Visa should be issued/extended by the FRRO in India in the city where employed. Indian Embassy will not accept any applications for reissue of the Employment Visa unless the contract is with a new Company.

NON-GREEK PASSPORT HOLDERS : Mandatory requirement

13. Residence proof (More than 2 years of residence) in country of application - Greek Residence Permit for more than 2 years or Latest 2 years of TAX RETURNS prior to the date of the official Visa submission of visa application.

Further extension is only done by the state governments/Union Territories/Foreigners Regional Registration Office, and Foreigner's Registration Office.

STUDENT VISA

Essential Requirements

1. Printed Visa Application form, signed in blue, as per signature on passport

2. Original Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of the Indian Visa issuance, with at least 2 continuous empty pages, in good condition

3. Two photocopies of Passport pages with details

6. One photocopy of previous Indian Visa, if exists, with stamps of exit/entrance. One photocopy of previous passport’s page with details, in case the visa was pasted there.

Student Visa Requirements :

1. Student visa is granted to students who have been admitted to Recognised Universities/Institutions in India to pursue the regular studies or to pursue the specific courses. The visa can be issued for the duration of course for a maximum period of 5 years.

2. Normally for student visa the clearance from India is required, hence the applicants are advised to apply well in advance.

3. Original admission letter as a proof of admission to a full time course.

4. Recognised University/Institution/School – Copy of Certificate of Registration

5. A certificate that the family has enough financial resources to sustain the cost burden in India (tuition fees and the stay in India ) is required.

6. A receipt of fees paid to the school/university/institution

7. In addition to above in case of exchange programme, an exchange of student agreement between the two institutions is required.

8. All the official documents in Greek language must be accompanied with English translation by the authorized translation agencies of the Embassy.

(N.B. Full time or part time employment is completely prohibited in case of a student visa.)

CONFERENCE VISA

Essential Requirements:

1. Printed Visa Application form, signed in blue, as per signature on passport

2. Original Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of the Indian Visa issuance, with at least 2 continuous empty pages, in good condition

3. Two photocopies of Passport pages with details

5. One photocopy of previous Indian Visa, if exists, with stamps of exit/entrance. One photocopy of previous passport’s page with details, in case the visa was pasted there

6. In case 2nd Nationality Passport exists, photocopy of its page with details

7. Signed Letter of Invitation from the Organisers of the Conference

8. Administrative approval of Nodal Ministry, Government of India

9. Clearance from Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India

10. Clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

MEDICAL VISA

For medical visa, the requirements mentioned in TOURIST VISA will apply. In addition the following documents will also be needed:

1. Invitation letter signed and stamped from the hospital concerned in India should be provided on the letter head of the hospital/ treatment centres in India with applicant’s details.

2. Any other supporting documents from a Greek Hospital has to be provided.

3. Proof of availability of sufficient money to spend during the stay in India including the expenses for medical treatment

Please note that the Embassy of India, Greece, reserves the right to ask for additional documents if required.

MEDICAL ESCORT VISA

For medical visa, the requirements mentioned in TOURIST VISA will apply. In addition the following documents will also be needed:

1. Request by the Patient requiring an escort.

2. Declaration of Medical Attendant as an escort to Patient.

3. Supporting Medical documents of the patient required to escort.

4. Bank Statement - Official Letter stamped and signed by Bank in English showing current Bank Balance as proof of availability of sufficient funds to spend in India

JOURNALIST VISA

For medical visa, the requirements mentioned in TOURIST VISA will apply. In addition the following documents will also be needed:

1. Assignment letter in original issued by the media organization stating the purpose of travel and detailed programme and the places to be visited for journalism purposes.

2. List of cinematic equipment to be temporarily imported into India.
   If the purpose of visit is to shoot/film a documentary in India, the following should also be provided:
   (i) Application form for shooting a documentary  in India.
   ii) Undertaking in the prescribed form;
   iii) Script / Synopsis;
   iv) Details of locations where documentary is proposed to be filmed;

3. Photocopy of Journalist card along with original journalist card.

4. Proof of availability of sufficient money to spend during the stay in India.

RESEARCH VISA

For medical visa, the requirements mentioned in TOURIST VISA will apply. In addition the following documents will also be needed:

1. Original Letter addressed to the Embassy from the University

2. Original Applicant’s Letter of Invitation from the University

3. Bank Statement - Official Letter stamped and signed by Bank in English showing current Bank Balance as proof of availability of sufficient funds to spend in India.
