- For seeking any kind of Consular Services the presence of the applicant is mandatory
- Passports are re-issued on expiry of final validity (can be done from one (1) year), on exhaustion of page, damage or lost, change of appearance / personal particulars etc.
- Fees paid for consular services is not refundable.
- Application forms for various consular services may be downloaded from the Embassy website or collected from the consular wing.

A) RE-ISSUE OF A PASSPORT ON EXPIRY OF VALIDITY OF CURRENT PASSPORT OR ON EXCHAUSTION OF PAGES

B) RE-ISSUE OF A PASSPORT ON SPLITTING NAME
- Splitting of given name into first name and surname may be allowed subject to procedure of at least two Indian public documents.

C) RE-ISSUE OF A PASSPORT DUE TO CHANGE OF NAME

D) RE-ISSUE OF A PASSPORT WITH ADDITION /DELETION OF SPOUSE NAME

- Marriage Certificate in original duly attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with Photocopy or Joint declaration signed by both husband and wife with joint photo. If the Marriage conducted in Greece a certificate issued from the registry of the municipality of the residence of the holder is required.
- In case of divorce the Decree of divorce in original duly attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with Photocopy. If the Decree of divorce is issued by local court in Greece, the same should be notarized and attested.
- In case of death of the spouse a Death Certificate in original duly attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with Photocopy. In case of death in Greece a certificate issued from the registry of the municipality of the residence of the holder is required.

Notes:
- The Passport applications and other documents have to be signed by both parents
- Either, parents shall be present at the Embassy while applying for the Passport of their minor child / children or one of the parent with the Passport of the both parents may be present. However they have to submit signed declaration for issue of Passport to minor (Annexure D) by both parents. In case one of the parent is living abroad the consent of the parent in Annexure D dully attested by Indian Mission / Post abroad should be submitted.
- Either, sign by parent or thumb impression of the child is required in signature box on the first page under the photograph and on last page of the application form (left hand thumb impression)
- The passport will be valid for five years or till the minor attends the age of 18 years whichever is earlier. However, minors in the age group of 15 to 18 years are eligible to apply for 10 years validity passport with additional fees.
H) EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE

Attestation of Documents: India is one of the signatories to The Hague Apostille Convention and the new scheme was implemented in India on 29.8.2007. The purpose of the Convention is to reduce the two stage authentication of public documents to one single stage. If a public document is apostilled by the country of origin, it does not require re-authentication by the authorities of the country in whose territory it has to be produced, provided both the countries are party to the Apostille Convention. With India's accession to the Convention, re-authentication of documents in Greece is not necessary as Greece is also a party to the Apostille Convention.
F) REGISTRATION SERVICES
Marriage Registration:

Registration of birth:
All Indian nationals who are residents in Greece are required to register the birth of their children in the Embassy within three months from the date of birth.
The applicants are required to submit photocopies of parent's passports along with Residence Permit / Work Permit in Greece and translated copy of birth certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with photocopy of the original birth certificate in Greek.
Registration of death of Indian in Greece:
In case of death of Indian in Greece the family/relative/friends of the deceased should furnish information of death of the person to the Embassy for registration of death. The following documents are required for registration of death:
- In case of cremation in Greece:
- Passport of the deceased
- Photocopy of Passport and Residence Permit / Work Permit in Greece of informer, self-attested
- Death certificate from the Municipality of Greece with translated copy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cremation certificate
- In case mortal remains to be sent to India:
- Passport of the deceased
- Photocopy of Passport and Residence Permit / Work Permit in Greece of informer, self-attested
- Death certificate from the Municipality of Greece with translated copy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Embalming certificate with translated copy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Certification for safe transfer of the mortal remains, by the Directorate of environmental hygiene and sanitary control.
- Affidavit and contact number (of India) from family/relative of the deceased in India taking the responsibility to receive the mortal remains in India.
